Dark and Stormy Nights

Ocean Shores Short Horror Film Festival

A dense, dark forest with twisted, moss-covered trees and a faint light filtering through the canopy.

Foggy beaches, misty forests, and dark and stormy nights - no better place for a horror shorts fest!

We are currently in the planning stages for the festival and seeking sponsors to ensure the best possible experience for filmmakers and attendees.

We plan on making this event a city-wide festival including craft fair, pub crawls, and various spooky showcases throughout the town during the festival.

October 17th & 18th 2026

FOR FILMMAKERS

As filmMAKERS ourselves, we understand how important it is to build a festival that honors the creators that put their heart and soul into storytelling. Currently, we plan on providing the following for ALL selected films:

  • FREE LODGING - One single or double occupancy room for all selected films. Check in Friday, check out Sunday so you can enjoy the entire fest. Subject to filmmaker confirming attendance.

  • Two passes to your block for each selected film (as well as additional discounted tickets for cast and crew, as well as additional blocks).

  • Filmmaker reception/networking event.

  • Six miles of beaches, coast-side shops, 39 restaurants and speciality food/drink establishments (most within walking distance of venue).

  • Events throughout the weekend to keep you entertained.

  • Key to the City perks.

  • Proximity to amazing destinations. Let the fest kick off your Olympic Peninsula vacation! Ocean Shores is located on the Olympic Peninsula loop, home to the Olympic National Forest, The International Mermaid Museum, world class fishing, temperate rainforests, the Tree of Life (possibly The Tree of the Dead by 2026), Cape Flattery, Forks for the Twi-hards, and so much more!
